Hexmark Destroyer Datasheet Changes - normanthesquid/wh40k-fundapocalypse GitHub Wiki

We used the Overlord datasheet as a base for the Hexmark Destroyer, since it has the closest statline. The only real differences are the Hexmark being 2" faster, and the Overlord being 1 better at punching.

We also gave the Hexmark a 6+ save instead of a 5+, since it doesn't have an invuln.

It gets Deep Strike, since it has Dimensional Translocation.

It gets Hardwired Hatred, since it has Hardwired for Destruction.

The Inescapable Death ability can get ported over almost word for word. The only exception is the Overwatch clause, which doesnt really translate. We gave it the second half of the T'au "For the Greater Good" ability, and let it shoot at things when it is in base contact instead.

Multi-threat eliminator was a tricky once, since saves are resolved later. Instead of coming up with a crazy mathematical comparison based on number of blast markers and models in units, we decided to use a similar rule to the one we built for the Hammerfall Bunkers, and let the Hexmark shoot at each light unit within range, which is way cooler anyways. We figured restricting it to Light units would make it as close as possible to the "killing multiple little things" flavor.

The disintegrator pistols themselves are kind of a unique weapon. We struggle with it for a while, until we realized that they are basically just a 5 man squad worth of guns on one model, so we started look at squad weapons instead of single model weapons. We went with the Gauss Flayer from the Necron Warriors as the base, but instead of improving the strength some, we made it have 2 attacks instead of 1. This means the Hexmark is rolling more dice than it needs to, especially in Apocalypse, but we absolutely love this model and are playing favorites.

The Hexmark Destroyer is 4 PL in 9e, the same as the Crypteks. We made it cost 5PL in Apoc, the same as the Crypteks.
