Hammerfall Bunker Datasheet Changes - normanthesquid/wh40k-fundapocalypse GitHub Wiki
The Hammerfall Bunker profile was created using the Deathstorm Drop Pod as an example.
The Deathstorm Drop Pod datasheet is an absolute shitshow for Apocalypse, and doesn't make any sense:
- The "shoot at everything" rule is gone, with no apparent justification - the two options have the same number of attacks as the weapons they most closely resemble
- The Deathstorm Missile Array, which is basically just the Krak half of a Missile Launcher, has worse SAT
- the Deathstorm Cannon Array, which is basically a Kheres Assault Cannon with 1 less strength, is worse on both stats - 6+/8+ vs 5+/7+
Instead of following this example, we are going to keep the Hammerfall Bunker closer to its 9e incarnation. If we decide to make any changes to existing datasheets to make them more fun in Apocalypse, the Deathstorm Drop Pod will probably be at the top of the list.
Base Profile
Its base profile is very close to the Stormraven Gunship, except:
- 1 worse BS
- 1 more point of toughness. We will give the Bunker a 5+ save instead of a 6+ save, as we have seen in other T7/T8 comparisons, like Predator vs Stalker
- Ld 7 instead of 8, giving it an Ld of 5 in Apocalypse
Hammerfall Missile Launcher
The Hammerfall Missile Launcher is basically a normal missile launcher, except with 2x the shots, and 2 better S on both profiles. We decided to double the shots, and improve the SAP and SAT by 1 each.
Hammerfall Heavy Bolter Array and Hammerfall Heavy Flamer Array
The Arrays are just a Heavy Bolter/Heavy Flamer. We reused the existing profile for each
Defensive Array
We took the 9e ability and tweaked it to make it more Apocalypse-ish: When this unit makes a Shoot action its Hammerfall Heavy Bolter Array or its Hammerfall Heavy Flamer Array may target, and resolve attacks against, every eligible enemy unit.
Power Level
The Bunker is 9 PL in 9e, so is the Redemptor. The Redemptor is 10 PL in Apocalypse, so we will set the Bunker's PL to 10 as well
