Fortis Kill Team Datasheet Changes - normanthesquid/wh40k-fundapocalypse GitHub Wiki
The Fortis Kill Team was created using the Veterans Apocalypse datasheet as a template.
Since the Veterans datasheet does not allow bikers, we chose to also skip Outriders.
Since the new 9e kill teams require you to take 5 normal models, then you can add 5 more models, we will change up the rules a little bit - you will only be able to take the extra weapon options if you bring a 10 man squad.
The Veterans datasheet has a small "bug" where you get extra shots, since the Deathwatch Boltguns are A:User, even though 4/10 guys are also carrying heavy things. We are going to preserve that bug - Deathwatch are just that badass.
Rough summary of the Wargear options, using the Veterans datasheet as a template:
- This unit is equipped with Close Combat Weapons
- This unit can be equipped with up to 4 Heavy Plasma Incinerators, +1 PL per incinerator
- We chose to force Heavy Plasma Incinerators to keep the overall profile simpler - all guns have 36" range
- This unit can replace its Close Combat Weapons with Chainswords (from our Assault Intercessor Squad) for +1 PL
- If this unit contains 10 models or is not equipped with any Heavy weapons, it is also equipped with Deathwatch Bolt Rifles
- Reused from the Intercessors Profile
Note that while the Veterans in the Proteus Kill Team have improved Ld, the Fortis Kill Team does not.
The Veterans datasheet is 1 more PL base than the Tactical Squad, so we will make the Fortis Kill Team 1 more PL than the Intercessor Squad - 7 PL
Heavy Plasma Incinerator
The heavy plasma Incinerator was a hard profile to find an equivalent for. In the end, we used the Plasma Cannon as a base, but reduced the SAP by 1 to account for fewer shots, but increased the SAT by 1 to account for the better AP and D. This takes it from a 7+ 7+ to a 8+ 6+. This makes it equivalent to a Grav Cannon with 36" range, which might be too good. shrug.
