IMD 3901 : Milestone 9 - noreenqureshi/TermProjectBlogposts GitHub Wiki

April 6, 2021

Overview

For this week, I did research on the artists whose paintings we included in our project. After doing research, I created info cards that will be used in each of the levels. While researching, I noticed that there was some overlap between the artists that we chose to include. For example, Lawren S. Harris contacted J.E.H. MacDonald because he was impressed with his work, and soon enough the two became friends which later evolved into the Group of Seven.

Additionally, since the code on my end did not work last week, I tried re-installing the project files from our GitHub repository and tried again. This week, no longer had a "Page Unresponsive" popup, and I was able to open dev tools with ctrl+shift+i. This was good news on my end, because it meant that I could add or tweak things if necessary. However, since this week I did research and created info cards, Jenny, our other 3D modeler, said that she would take care of placing the models into our levels. It would not be fair for me to take a task of hers that she has already committed to, so instead I started preparation for our Final Presentation.

Challenges

One of the challenges for this week was finding tasks to do. Since our project is nearly completed, there are only a few remaining tasks. However, since we are approaching the deadline for our Final Presentation, I will suggest to my group that I can also start preparing our presentation video while the remaining tasks are being completed by other members.

Successes

This week, I think the biggest success for me was getting the project to finally work on my end. It was very frustrating last week, since it was difficult to determine the problem. However, the most recent, up-to-date code that we have is functioning as it should be.

Next steps

I think the next steps are to do final debugging and to prepare for our Final Presentation and Final Submission by gathering all of our finished files.
