Known Compatibility Issues - nonamecrackers2/crackers-wither-storm-mod GitHub Wiki

This is a list of all the known major compatibility issues with other mods. Please refer to this before making a bug report!

Minecraft:

  • Make sure the "Mod Resources" in the resource pack menu is AT THE TOP of the list, to ensure the crossbow ender pearl texture works correctly, and so that the Wither Storm's mass won't unload when dying.

OptiFine:

  • The Wither Storm may disappear with only its tractor beams showing for a moment when transitioning from the distant renderer to the default Minecraft entity rendering system.
  • The Wither Storm will disappear when looking at its top half due to culling present in Optifine.
  • You may experience a crash when using shaders when trying to render block clusters (if you are using older versions of the mod). Turning "Block Cluster Colouring" to OFF in the mods client config menu should fix this crash, or you can just disable block cluster rendering entirely.
  • Some shaders prevent the tractor beams from appearing properly.
  • The Wither Storm will unload in spawn chunks if "Smooth World" under "Performance" under "Video Settings" is enabled. Make sure to disable this feature!
  • Performance improvements are disabled when shaders are running.
  • It is recommended to use Embeddium and Oculus (for shaders) as an OptiFine replacement

[OLDER VERSIONS] Vivecraft:

  • The distant rendered Wither Storm won't be oriented correctly when playing in VR

Distant Horizons:

  • The distant Wither Storm may be rendered on top of the extra terrain rendered by Distant Horizons

Magnesium/Rubidium/Embeddium Extras:

  • Max Entity Distance when enabled will cause the Wither Storm to disappear when beyond certain distances

[OLDER 1.16.5 VERSIONS] Lootr:

  • “Tick in Containers” needs to be disabled in the server config under the “Formidibomb” section for the chests to generate

Dynamic Surroundings Resurrected & Immersive FX:

  • The sound loops used will stop playing when behind blocks. Disable "Enable Sound Occlusion Calculations" in "sndctrl-client.toml" to fix this issue. Disable "Enable Stereo to Mono Conversion" in "sndctrl-client.toml" to fix the tractor beam loops from playing spacially (directional sound)

Lithium Forks (Radium, Canary) 1.18.2+:

  • NOTE: Modern versions of Canary are known to detect CWSM and disable these features by default.
  • Massive TPS drops occur when using these mods with CWSM. Disable "Inject Custom AI Behavior" (NOTE: disables mobs running away from the WS) in the common config following a world reload, or paste "mixin.ai.nearby_entity_tracking=false" in the "radium.properties" or "canary.properties" file located in your "config" folder to fix this issue.

Danny’s Expansion (1.16.5)

  • Danny’s Expansion is incompatible and will crash in game.

[3.3 and 4.0] ServerCore:

  • ServerCore causes the player respawning mechanic added by CWSM to not function

[4.0] Rubidium:

  • Rubidium 0.7+ must require "Async Buffer Builders" to be disabled in the client config

Oculus

  • Oculus causes the Wither Storm's tentacles, heads, etc. to appear white from a distance while it's dying

The Man From The Fog

  • The Man From The Fog mod causes rendering issues making the game unplayable. The current only known fix is to remove The Man From The Fog from your mod list

Modern Fix (1.20.1)

  • Older versions of Modern Fix are known to crash with Cracker's Wither Storm Mod. Please use versions at or above 5.18.0

If you experience any other compatibility issues (besides the ones listed here), please make a bug report!
