After a personal encounter with impossible things appearing, and weeks of rumors of similar events happing around the world, accompanied by unpredictable storms, this broadcast begins to circulate in the media and on online forums.
People of this world, this Earth. Greetings. Two months ago your lives were turned upside down. Massive storms swept the globe, and for many of you the laws of nature, of reality itself, have been violated. Before that fateful day technology worked uniformly around your globe. No Longer. In some places holographic imaging has advances to the point where you can see this broadcast in realistic three dimensional clarity – and I trust that our hackers can ensure that recordings will be available in the future. In others, televisions no longer work. Instead, you will be hearing me over the radio – and I have arranged for transcripts to be printed and distributed.
These rapid shifts in technology are odd, but many of you have seen even stranger things. Some of you have seen creatures of magic and legend walk your streets. Or you may have seen men and women relying on their religious faith or their mastery of arcane rituals to do what seems impossible with even the most advanced technology.
You have wondered why these changes are happening. You have asked your leaders and received few answers. For this they can not be blamed. As you well know, with these changes came invaders from other realms. Demons and men, creatures of all sorts, killing your leaders and plunging your nations into war and chaos. Worse, some of your leaders have submitted your nations to the invaders. With this backdrop, how could they take time to understand why?
Today I will give you the answers you seek. On the day of storms, bridges were created – Bridges that link your world to others.
The bridge in Russia links to a world known as Tharkold, where men and women like yourselves have been enslaved by demons of magic and technology. They brought their war to Moscow, and the Russian Federation.
The bridge in France links to a world known as Magna Verta, where the Cyberpope Jean Malreau and his church rules, but where demons, faith magic, and advanced technology all exist. This battle too has spilled over into your world.
The bridge in Egypt links to a world known as the Nile empire. The Pharaoh Mobius’s invasion progressed with little need for magic or advanced technology. Instead, he has weapons, reality bombs, that stop any technology more advanced than his own to stop working instantly.
And the bridge in India has unleashed monsters of nightmare and magic from Orrorsh, while causing much of the local technology to fail. The Gaunt Man rules this his realm from the shadows, tempting men and women to succumb to their own fears and submit to him.
In addition to these bridges, there have also been smaller invasion, and more subtle shifts that you may be able to feel but not quite name.
In fact, the invaders shift the very reality. But they can be defeated. An attempt to create a bridge in the United States was thwarted by Strike Force, the first of many groups dedicated to combating these invasions. And Thratchen was nearly defeated in Russia - with the aid of allies from the other side.
Sadly, some invaders have now had time to establish footholds in your world, and I fear we will see others in the coming weeks. Which is why I’ve created the Justice League. I know many of you want to fight back against the invaders. And some of you have found that you can – with an effort of will – bend reality to your will. Perhaps you can force tools to work for you that will work for no one else. Or can see the branching paths of reality and choose, in small ways, which will be. Or you have found the ability to work Magic or Miracles. The storms themselves have knighted you, and you Storm Knights will be called upon to act.
The Justice League and the Council of Delphi will be seeking you. Until then, know that you are not alone, and the war has only begun.
