Ram Tah Missions - njthomson/SrvSurvey GitHub Wiki

SrvSurvey helps with the Ram Tah missions by showing which logs are available at a site, and which items are needed to scan the relevant obelisk:

Tracking progress

SrvSurvey also has a window tracking your progress against each mission. Click the button "Ram Tah Mission" on the main window to open this.

The checkboxes will automatically update when scanning an obelisk, and a dotted border will appear when you are within ~25m of an active obelisk. Obelisks may be close together at some sites and you may need to position your SRV to trigger the right one, or you can manually check the boxes. You can tell which obelisk SrvSurvey thinks is closest from the overlays shown below.

Note: SrvSurvey uses the MaterialCollected journal entry, however these will not happen for cmdrs have filled up their quota of Guardian data materials, made obvious in game by "Unable to receive data! Storage full" messages. If this happens: clicking the Toggle obelisk button or sending an in-game message .os (for obelisk scanned) triggers the same behaviour as when SrvSurvey auto-detects a scan.

Site overlays

There are 3 overlays to help with Ram Tah missions when at a Guardian site:

The top middle overlay shows which obelisk SrvSurvey thinks you are closest too, with the items needed and which log message will be received upon scanning. To help find these items, the dot colour matches the dot on the left hand map. Items will show in red if they are not currently in your cargo:

The left hand map overlay shows which obelisks are active, and will zoom in when you are within ~30m of any obelisks. Active obelisks cast a "glow" on the map to indicate which way they are facing. The color of the glow means the following:

  • Orange : The obelisk has previously scanned.
  • White : The obelisk has not been scanned, but you have already acquired the logs it provides - only when either Ram Tah mission is active.
  • Blue: The obelisk has not been scanned. When either Ram Tah mission is active - the obelisk provides a log you have not yet acquired.

When either Ram Tah mission is active, a new right middle overlay will appear showing all of the logs needed at this site, the items needed for them (in red if not in your cargo), and which obelisk can provide it. These will highlight in blue when you are within ~25m of an obelisk.

Here on row 3 we can see that log Culture #20 could be scanned from obelisk M02 or R25, but we need to find a Relic first:

This overlay remains visible when looking at the right internal HUD, so you can easily see which items to transfer between the SRV and your ship.

There are a lot of obelisks at some sites and finding your way to each one is not always easy. SrvSurvey can show a line and distance to any active obelisk. Simply send an in game message .to G04 to target obelisk 20 in the G group. Send just .to to clear the current target.

System overlay

There is a 4th overlay showing a brief summary of all Guardian sites in the current star system. This appears when super-cruising, viewing the system map or looking at the left external HUD. When either Ram Tah mission is active, an extra line will show which needed logs are available at each site:

Searching for sites

Finally … how do you pick which system to visit next for the logs you need? Use the "All Guardian Sites" button on the main SrvSurvey window to view the table of all Guardian sites. (Recently updated to show Ruins, Structures and beacons combined).

Use the checkbox "Show Ram Tah Logs" see which logs are available at every site. Unlike the overlays, this is not filtered on what you have already collected. Use the filter box to search for sites with desired logs. Eg: to find sites with Biology #2 for the 1st Tam Tah mission filter with "B2". For the 2nd mission filter with "#20" to see sites with Log #20
