Adding POI to a Guardian site - njthomson/SrvSurvey GitHub Wiki

The basic POI

As of build 1.1.0.26 it is possible to add new POI to the map, not previously known to SrvSurvey. These are stored locally and will need to be submitted with the Share your discovered data button on the table window.

To add a new POI, simply stand on top of it in your suit and send an in game message .add <thing> where thing can be any of the terms below. If you make a mistake simply send .remove. These new POI will be named x1, x2, etc, and show automatically as "present". It is not possible to mark them as absent or empty, they should be removed if not actively present. You can measure the heading of new relic towers just like existing ones.

  • casket
  • orb
  • relic
  • tablet
  • totem
  • urn

For basic items, try to stand on the item, or as close to the center of the glowing patch as possible. For Relic Towers - you need to stand right on the glowing blue relic, so that you're bobbing up and down with it:

Some items have a tendency to roll out of their starting position - you should still stand in the glowing patch, where the item would start, not where they end up:

Directional POI

Pylons and Component Towers require you be facing a particular direction before typing .add pylon or .add component. For best results switch weapon or tool right before sending the message - this makes the game update the location and heading that is read by SrvSurvey.

Adding Pylons

When adding pylons it is important to face the same direction as needed to shoot the lights to activate it:

Adding Component Towers

When adding Component Towers, you want to stand on the 2nd highest part, facing the highest such that the edge in front of you is perpendicular to your feet:
