Changing the horizontal resolution of MC-KPP is not a trivial task, particularly if ancillary files for your chosen resolution do not already exist. You will need to follow two other workflows first, before returning here for further information on running at your new resolution.
- You will need to change the coupling region to define an atmosphere-ocean coupling region for your new horizontal resolution. If your coupling domain includes any sea-ice covered areas, you will need a sea-ice climatology at your chosen resolution.
- You will need to change the horizontal domain by adding a new
parameter.inc
file to the MC-KPP repository, to compile the model correctly for your new resolution.
Once you have completed those steps, including the edits to your MetUM-GOML Rose suite, you will also need to create several MC-KPP ancillary files at your chosen resolution. Specifications for these ancillary files can be found on the KPP trac pages :
