Developing a restricted Access Record: HTML view - nhsconnect/gpc-consumer-support GitHub Wiki

Some consumer suppliers may be able to develop a restricted view of the Access Record: HTML record to allow certain healthcare professionals or non-clinical roles access to pre-agreed areas of the patient record.

This page shows you which roles and areas can be accessed at each of the different care settings.

1. Care home end-users

Roles that can access the information:

The following non-clinical roles in CQC-registered care providers have been approved to access a reduced view of Access Record: HTML:

  • CQC-registered manager
  • deputy home manager/care manager/deputy care manager/senior carer/team leader
  • pharmacist/pharmacy technician
  • social worker

Nurses working within care homes can access the full record.

If consumer suppliers are developing both the full view for nurse access and a limited view for non-clinical users, they must ensure appropriate role-based access controls are applied such that only appropriate users are able to access the right level of information. This will need to be evidenced as part of the assurance process.
