Completing the National Data Sharing Arrangement - nhsconnect/gpc-consumer-support GitHub Wiki
The GP Connect National Data Sharing Arrangement (NDSA) sets out the data sharing requirement and obligations for use of GP Connect. This ratifies the safe sharing of clinical information through GP Connect to support direct patient care. The NDSA replaces the local point to point data sharing agreements that were in place pre-pandemic.
New GP Connect end users
Any new GP Connect end user organisations are required to review and sign the NDSA before they can be enabled for live service.
End User organisations will be required to have a current standards met Data Security Protection Toolkit (DSPT) to complete the sign up process.
End user organisations can sign up through the NDSA sign up portal
There is some step-by-step guidance on how to sign the NDSA
Consumer Suppliers are required to ensure their end users have signed as part of the onboarding process.
Some organisations may have already signed the NDSA if they are already an existing end user of GP Connect and therefore would not be required to sign again. We have a Transparency Portal which can be used to check which organisations have already signed.
Existing GP Connect Consumer Suppliers deploying to new end users
If you’re an assured consumer supplier that wants to deploy to new end users the NDSA will now need to be signed before any new end point and/or ASIDs can be raised.
Check if your end user has already signed the NDSA and if not guide them to the portal to complete. Once this has been done, we can enable for live.
