ICT Concepts are Based on Time and Price
- Of the two variables, time is the more important, and can be thought of as Time then Price.
- Time is the first factor traders should consider when making trade decisions.
-
We look at price with the understanding of the Market Efficiency Paradigm.
-
We understand the market from the perspective of Smart Money, we look at the market from a basis of liquidity, balance, and rebalance, that's it.
-
There are four elements of price.
- Buy Side Liquidity Run.
- Sell Side Liquidity Run.
- Run to balance an inefficiency.
- Run to create an inefficiency.
-
The fifth element is Time.
Many of the concepts taught by ICT rely on time as the primary aspect of the concept.
-
It is important to remember time is fractal and concepts are applied on multiple time frames.
-
e.g.
- ICT Kill Zones are based on time of day.
- Weekly profiles are based on day of week.
- Monthly Bias is based on Order Flow on a Monthly time frame.
- Seasonality is based on Quarterly Market Shifts.
-
All times are NY Time, Eastern US Time Zone.
-
This page documents known concepts based on time resolution including the following resolutions.
- Daily
