Azure Services and Concepts

• Like most services are provided per region. Naturally chose the closest region to your customers.
• Within geography there are region pairs that are 300+ miles apart that can be used for automatic replications and failover

Managing your Azure Resources

• Azure manages related functionality in a Resource Group
• They share the same lifecycle to deploy, update and tear down
• Security rules can be applied to the resource group
• Resource group deployments can all be done via Resource Manager Template

Manging your Resources From your portal.azure.com

• All Services -> Resource Groups - gives you a view on the Resource Groups created
• Apply tags that show the name of the project or business group. Then filter the list based on desired tags etc.
• Each Resource group contains related functionality e.g. VM + storage. They may be deleted as a group or individual items removed, moved between Resource Groups.
