What is AVSE?

A weekly podcast that focuses on a particular topic that matters to the hosts. Topics should emphasize lessons that the hosts have learned or are learning about life, hard-won experience, reflection, and generally positive themes.

• Every show is less than 30 minutes long.
• Every show has three segments: light introduction, discussion of the topic, and the sharing of "cool things discovered on the internet" in the past week.
  • The introduction should only be a few minutes long, and provides a chance to briefly introduce the show and the hosts, then frame the primary show topic.
  • It should be possible to summarize the primary show topic in Friends episode style. i.e., "The one about getting old," or "The one about collecting computer bags," or "The one about making new friends."
  • The "cool things discovered" segment gives each host a chance to share one cool thing they've found. A web site, an article, a song or band, a book, a game, a piece of software or a gadget, a television show, etc. This segment should only be a few minutes long, and should conclude with a sign-out and a call to tune in next week.
