Creeping Dark II
A standard kitchen-sink tech mod pack. With a bit of exploration. And a bit of progression. And an artifact hunt quest. And a tangible end goal. But mostly a standard kitchen-sink tech mod pack.
Also, the sun is slowly being blotted out.
Welcome to Creeping Dark II, a mod pack about saving the world. It contains many of your standard tech, magic, and dimension mods, with a twist. A plague is slowly covering the sky, blocking the sun. You must find a series of artifacts to open the end, retrieve the Dragon's egg, and bring it back to the Earth to cure it. Each tier of technology unlocks a new dimension, and each dimension unlocks a new tier of technology... and one of the Artifacts.
Changes in Creeping Dark II
Creeping Dark II is the sequel to the original, redesigned for Minecraft 1.16. The basic premise is unchanged, but the path to get there is very different, due to there being a very different selection of mods available for 1.16. Some old mods have returned, some have been replaced with mods with similar function, and some brand new mods have premiered.
Installation
The pack is now available on CurseForge.
The Readme has information on manually installing from the pack file if you're so inclined.
Progression
Creeping Dark is a "Progression-Lite" pack. Unlike a full progression-based modpack (like, say, Project Ozone), the recipes and mechanics of most mods are largely unchanged. You don't need to use the tech from one mod to create tech from another mod, except to unlock it initially. Once a mod is unlocked, it's unlocked in its entirety, and functions in the expected ways.
