How to remove malware from your Windows PC

What are the main differences between anti-virus and anti-malware software?

-malware slows down the performance of the computer and isn't just a bug your computer has caught, but can be a third-party spying on you causing your computer to go slower.

What are some signs or symptoms that may indicate a malware infection on your PC?

  • Slow, lagging, sudden pop-ups you didn't get before, weird issues that your computer is alerting of you all of a sudden, your computer asking if you want to give it access to do more things

Explain the difference between a full system scan and a quick scan when using antimalware software.

  • A quick scan goes through like skimming a book and points out the meat of the book, but a full system scan goes through every file througoughly

What should you do if your computer is infected with ransomware?

  • Delete the files that are detected as ransomware, run a full scan again, and run anti-virus software, rinse and repeat if needed.

Compare and contrast malware removal techniques in Windows PCs with those in other operating systems like macOS or Linux. How might these different approaches reflect the cultural values and priorities of the technology users?

  • Because Mac OS runs off of being able to pay for their hardware and makes a lot of things illegal, people are more reluctant to openly mess with the Operating System, there is a lot of red tape involved. Windows is known for it being so popular among the general public that there are more bad actors that are more familiar with the Operating System and how to mess with it, than MAC although both can be messed with, it just isn't worth it. Bad actors are not dumb, they choose the hill they potentially will die on. The best hackers get hired!

Discussion Questions

What are three key factors that contribute to psychologically safe teams?

  1. Direct and Straightforward creates a safe place where people know and don't have to guess
  2. Emotional control: stay consistent with your behavior to not make people guess
  3. Having clear guidelines from the start to mitigate future discrepencies

Evaluate, with details, a previous professional setting (or team) you were in with regards to psychological safety.

  • People that know their role and what is expected of them with a good attitude that have come to a point in their life where they've taken a backseat and put others first is the ideal situation, but when you have someone that still hasn't gotten the rhythm of good conduct and buys into the selfish mantra of the day and age, the best thing is when the other members of the team take him/her under their wing and show him/her the ways. Then there's something that happens when say the entire company or team is toxic. Well, if you have a strong enough of a personality, you can change the environment, otherwise pray pray pray, because God has you there for a reason.

What impact do teams that operate with a high degree of psychological safety have on their company and the team members?

  • The employees stay working at a company with a high degree of psychological safety as well as better performance from the employees for the success of the company.
