Installation

Es gibt zwei Möglichkeiten, wie du das Template installieren kannst. Bei der ersten Version lädst du das Template hoch und räumst danach auf. Bei der zweiten Version kopierst du den Inhalt des XML-Files in den Bloggereditor und fügst all deine Widgets wieder ein.

Ich persönlich bevorzuge die zweite Variante, aber ich werde beide hier abdecken.

Version 1: Hochladen über Blogger

  1. In der Sidebar klicke auf Vorlage
  2. Finde den Button oben Rechts der mit Backup/Wiederherstellung angeschrieben ist und klicke ihn.
  3. Ich empfehle eine Kopie des momentanen Templates zu machen, also einmal auf Vollständige Vorlage herunterladen klicken und das aktuelle Template speichern.
  4. Klicke auf Durchsuchen und finde das hearts-in-wonderland.xml file.
  5. Klcike Hochladen
  6. Das Theme ist nun live.
  7. Nun musst du nur noch in Layout wechseln und dort die Gadgets verschieben, bis alles stimmt. Hinweis: Zum Teil sind noch Blogger-eigene Gadgets drin wie die Attribution oder die Navbar, die zum Teil etwas mühsam sind. Falls du diese noch löschen kannst, einfach in den Code gehen und dort rauslöschen.

Version 2: Einfügen in den Blogger-Editor

  1. In der Sidebar klicke auf Layout und schreib dir alle Gadgets und ihre Einstellungen auf. Sie werden nicht mehr vorhanden sein, nachdem das Template hochgeladen wurde. (Das ist die ultimative Möglichkeit, um die Gadgets mal bisschen aufzuräumen!)
  2. Klicke auf Vorlage*
  3. Öffne hearts-in-wonderland.xml mit einem Editor, um den Code zu sehen und kopiere ihn.
  4. Wechsle in den Editor und platziere die Mouse im momentanen Template-Code
  5. Klicke Strg+A/CMD+A und lösche alles.
  6. Füge den Inhalt des XML-files ein und speichere.
  7. Füge alle Gadgets wieder ein.

Install

There are two main possibilities on how to go about installing a blogger template.

For the first Version you upload the theme via Blogger and clean up afterwards.

The first version consists of copy 'n' pasting the content of the xml-file into the blogger editor and then adding the widgets back in.

I personally prefer the second version, but I will explain both of them here.

For both of these the first thing you want to do is of course log into the blogger dashboard and then choose the blog you want to upload the template into.

Version 1: Uploading via Blogger

  1. In the sidebar click on Template
  2. Locate the button called Backup/Restore on the top-right corner and click it.
  3. I recommend downloading your current template in case everything goes wrong, so hit that Download Full Template Button and save your file.
  4. Click on Browse and locate the hearts-in-wonderland.xml file.
  5. Click Upload
  6. The Theme is now uploaded.
  7. Now All you have to do is go into Layout and move the widgets around as you want to. Note: Sometimes some widgets from blogger are still stuck in there (like attribution and the navbar) and they are not deleteable from the layout tab. If that's the case just go into the code and delete them from there.

Version 2: Pasting into the Blogger Editor

  1. In the sidebar click on Layout and write down all of the widgets you are using including all of the settings. The widgets will be removed from the site once the theme is uploaded, and you will have to put them back in, afterwards (this is the perfect opportunity to clean out your widget sections!)
  2. Click on Template
  3. On your computer, open hearts-in-wonderland.xml with an editor to see the code.
  4. Copy all of that code.
  5. Change back into the Browser and click into the current Template Code.
  6. Hit Ctrl+A/CMD+A and delete everything in there
  7. Paste the content of the xml-file in there and save.
  8. Put all of your widgets back in.
