Overview:

In my role as a Product Owner, I helped lead the transition from Google Analytics to PIWIK Pro, standardizing UTM parameters, event tracking, and building dashboards. I was heavily involved in the technical aspects of both the migration, logical setup of tracking, and implementation of new standards across our entire division. This included over a dozen websites, applications, and portals, that all sync to one singular analytics home.

Technical Write-Up/ Implementation:

• Uploading of previously used tracking from GA, implemented by property into PIWIK Pro Analytics. This required an audit of all existing tracking needs/requirements for each property, as well as a legal review.
• Create and manage a working Azure backlog of all technical work. Many teams utilize this backlog, but it is maintained by the Product Owner, and a continual cadence of refinement occurs using Agile methodologies.
• Created custom dimensions for tracking traffic across multiple properties.
• Developed scripts to authenticate and query PIWIK APIs, automating report generation in Excel and Google Sheets.
• Integrated tag management using PIWIK Pro Tag Manager.
• Optimized cookie policies to comply with privacy regulations.
• Consolidated data from 15 properties into a centralized reporting dashboard.

Results/Screenshots/Conclusions:

Improved tracking accuracy and granularity. Enhanced reporting for marketing campaigns and user behavior insights. Provided actionable recommendations for cross-property traffic analysis.
