The software requirements for Musebots differ depending on their implementation.

Max/MSP

Many versions of the musebot suite run as Max/MSP patches. For example, Matt Horrigan's version requires Max/MSP 7 or later. If you don't want to, or can't, run Max when running the musebots, you can build them and the Conductor into standalone applications (preserving their relative positions in the folder structure) and use them like you would the patches.
