    • "Please also let me know with a short message if your project is on track to deliver the CI/CD platform and deploy the codes on the JU systems."
      • question is related to the responsibilites being imposed on us by CASTIEL2
      • yes for deploying, since we have EESSI on Vega
      • also working on workshop to make deployment of CVMFS on EuroHPC systems

    • [SURF] WP1 Developing a Central Platform for Scientific Software on Emerging Exascale Technologies
      • [UGent] T1.1 Stable (EESSI) - due M12+M24
        • initial list of software (issue #4)
          • LAMMPS + walBerla are important for various use cases (bio + mat science) in MultiXscale
          • GROMACS is relevant for BioExcel, QuantumESPRESSO for MaX (also yambo)
        • next EESSI pilot version (2023.06) (issue #92)
          • 2023.04 compat layer is in place, but abandonded (issue #93)
            • OpenSSL 3.x in 2023.04 proved too problematic (for Python, Rust, etc.)
          • 2023.06 compat layer (issue #91)
            • using OpenSSL 1.1.1 (still maintained - until Sept'23)
            • may need to update GCC in compat layer to 10.x to avoid problem that only appears with GCC 9
            • another attempt to let bot build & deploy new compat layer
        • update on physical Stratum-0 @ RUG (issue #12)
        • progress on GPU support (issue #1)
          • feedback from NVIDIA on including some parts of CUDA into EESSI
          • considering something of a redesign of the approach based on how it is done for apptainer, and the fact that we control the linker used (so ldconfig is under our control).
