Compatibility

Office2KDP is designed to work with Microsoft Office for Windows, specifically Excel and Word 2016 or newer.

To get the full benefit of Office2KDP (including automated Word exports), you’ll need:

  • Microsoft Excel and Word for Windows (2016 or newer, or Office 365)
  • Macros enabled

For all other platforms, the tool can still be useful - but manual setup will be required.

Supported Platforms

✅ Fully Supported

  • Windows 10/11
  • Microsoft Excel 2016+
  • Microsoft Word 2016+

⚠️ Partially Supported

  • macOS (Intel or Apple Silicon)
    • You can view and edit the spreadsheet
    • Most formulas will work
    • Macros will NOT run in Excel for Mac
    • Word export will not function unless you adapt it using AppleScript (advanced)

Mac Workaround Options

If you're using a Mac, you have a few choices:

  1. Run Office2KDP on a Windows machine or virtual environment
    • Tools like Parallels, VirtualBox, or Boot Camp
  2. Use the spreadsheet manually
    • You can still use all the calculators and copy the output into Word manually
  3. Wait for PowerPoint or Publisher export
    • These will eventually use PDF output, which will work on macOS

Other Office Variants

  • Office Online / Excel Online: Not supported. Macros are disabled in the browser.
  • LibreOffice / OpenOffice: Not supported. Formulas and macros will break.
  • Microsoft 365 (desktop app): Fully supported on Windows.
