Routers should follow the pattern of "plug and play" which means that you can receive the Internet connection without the need of any shitty configurations ☠ 💩 🏳️🌈 🛡 ⚠ 🚫 ❌ AKA considering the router as a black box for internet usage. You should get Internet connection with simple place setup upon installing the router at home/organization.
Simple place setup consists of computer and router before expanding this setup based on the use case on hand. Routers should be available ONLY via the ISP for governance purposes as registering a router for a user before shipping it to home/organization for recurring charging purposes. Because of assholes globally this issue of unnecessary configurations ☠ 💩 🏳️🌈 🛡 ⚠ 🚫 ❌ still exist by high percentage and is eliminated gradually.
FYI: user can be defined as home OR organization and based on the text context.
Router should get a communication connection directly from the local-satellite-receiver 📡 in a country and a power connection where it'll be installed. This is considered enough as below diagram depicts before expanding this communication connection based on the use case on hand.

FYI: you can flow the Internet in multiple buildings within the boundary of a single organization using router-per-building besides multiple access points and vpns to expand the network coverage in a controlled area. This router will be registered from the ISP side for organizations usage to consider the overhead of network coverage from their end as well.
