Airport charts (plates)
Official Israeli AIP charts for a chosen airfield, shown inside the app.
Opening it
Either:
- Click an airfield on the map (or find one with 🔍 search) and press Charts in the inspector, or
- open 📋 Charts → Airport charts from the toolbar and pick the airfield from the list.
The list is grouped by airfield (LLBG — Tel Aviv / Ben Gurion, LLHZ — Herzliya, …); the caret expands one airfield's plates.
The window keeps one width across both of its screens — the list of fields and one field's plates — so a control does not move out from under the thumb reaching for it. Inside a field, the way back and the category chips stay on screen however far the plate list scrolls: they are one block stuck to the top, which matters at Ben Gurion's 44 plates.
What's inside
Plates are grouped by category:
| Category | Contains |
|---|---|
| Approach | Instrument approach charts (ILS, RNP, LOC) |
| SID | Standard instrument departures |
| STAR | Standard terminal arrivals |
| Ground | Aerodrome, apron and parking diagrams |
| VFR / airport | VFR charts, circuit, CVFR and the airfield text page |
| Other | Anything else the AIP package carries |
Each plate is a chip labelled with its name.
Per-plate actions
- View — click the name to open it in the full-screen viewer.
- Download — the ⬇ button in the viewer.
- Open in a new tab — the 🔗 button in the viewer.
- Close — ✕ or Esc.
The plate you last opened is remembered for the session, so a reload brings the viewer back where you were (sessionStorage, not persisted to disk).
Formats and coverage
PDFs from the official Israeli AIP. Most airfields were built from the latest per-airfield AIP packages. Not every airfield has plates — those show a "no charts" message rather than an empty window.
Some plates double as map overlays (circuit, CVFR, training, comm-failure) — those are toggled from Extra layers, not here.
