Progress Report 1: Intellivue MP5 - mshapiro2025/MedBreach-Capstone GitHub Wiki
The first thing I did with the Intellivue Monitor was to dismantle it in order to analyze the PCBs used in the device. Taking the monitor apart posed to be a little bit of a challenge because it was built to be hard to take apart for security measures. After taking it apart initially, I decided to hold off on taking it apart even more, so that I could focus on the software aspect of the monitor.
In order to set up the test environment, I connected the monitor to a switch on the Leahy Center's network using an ethernet cable. From that connection, the monitor was able to obtain an IP on the Leahy network using it's DHCP function. I then connected my laptop to the same switch and performed a few quick nmap scans to try to find open ports, but have not found anything yet
Plans: I plan to research more into properly scanning IOT devices on nmap so that I can dig deeper into the monitor in hopes of finding open and potentially exploitable ports. I also plan to further research known CVEs on the device so that I can form a plan of attack.
