Cooking in a furnace will gain smithing Experience.

Theses Recipes can only be used in a "minecraft:furance" Not "minecraft:blast_furnace"!
You can turn Raw Blocks such as (Raw Iron Block, Raw Copper Block, and Raw Gold Block) into (Iron Block, Copper Block, and Gold Block)
Just place "Raw Block" into "minecraft:furnace" and it will smelt it super quickly into a block!
