🎤 Manual Microphone Setup / Verify Microphone Setup
If automatic device configuration fails, do the following:
- open the start menu and search for "Control Panel", then navigate to Hardware and Sound > Sound
- on the "Recording" tab, right click on the primary microphone you use
- on the "Listen" tab, check "Listen to this device"
- below, for "Playback through this device" choose "CABLE Input (VB-Audio Virtual Cable)"
- make sure your primary microphone, "CABLE Output" and "CABLE Input" (Sounds > Playback tab) are all at full level and unmuted in the "Levels" tab
- play a soundboard sound OR speak while one the "Recording" tab ➤ both should cause green output lines for the "CABLE Output" device

Discord no audio / bad audio quality
- NO AUDIO: make sure that "CABLE Output" is selected as the Discord microphone and the soundboard volume is high enough
- BAD QUALITY: if output quality is bad, "krisp" and/or noise cancelling is likely turned on. Disable it
- OPTIONAL: if necessary, use a third party tool (Steel Series Sonar, NVIDIA RTX voice) on your main mic for audio enhancement and then feed the resulting audio into "CABLE Input" (see step 4 above)

Mobile phone screen wake lock
- wake lock can be enabled in the mobile app settings or by clicking on the eye icon
- sadly, not all browsers (looking at you Chrome on Android 👀) support wake lock
- the browsers I have successfully tested it on for Android devices: Firefox, Edge, Vivaldi
- if all else fails, you will need to disable automatic screen dimming in your device settings
