Your registry organization will need to elect a Board Representative to represent your interest on the ModernNIC board. After which, you will be delegated two domains:
nsX.modernnic.orgnsX.modern.nic
X representing any number. nsX.modern.nic should be the hostname used by your authoritative DNS server that will be directly peered with the root zone.

It will fall under the responsibility of the individual operating group to create and maintain an automated registration system for users to register domains. Domain registrations, either manual or automatic, are required to be offered for free to all users.
ModernTLD is currently developing a PHP registration site that will be available for use by any operators.
Setting up your Tier 1 server
Servers will be required to slave all other ModernNIC zones. The initial configuration is very similar to setting up a Tier 2, except your TLD will be set as a master instead of slave.
