Like a Single Assigner Activity, a Multiple Assigner Activity specifies the management of competiton on an Association.

And while it has no access to an executing instance, it does need to know about its partitioning instance.

In the Elevator Case Study, for example, competition among destination requests is always local to some Shaft. Thus a partitioning instance flow will provide a reference to the particular shaft within which competition is managed.
