There are various circumstances where we need to pass, merge, or cast the content of one Data Flow into another without modifying (or lightly modifying, in the case of a cast) the conveyed value.

Rather than just splicing the flows together, we define an explicit flow connector as an Action for each such case so that we are in a position to enable or disable that Action with conditional logic.
