NOTE - Important info about Interface/Masa

Interface is by far the most popular piece of Vocaloid lost media, so a lot of you might be getting involved with the community because of it. However, because of its popularity, there's also a LOT of misinformation and important things you should know about Interface and other Masa works like Medical Wedding.

  1. Interface is relatively well-known even in the wider lost media community, so many people have already searched for it extensively without success.
  2. It's EXTREMELY unlikely that you've found the original Interface if you think you might've. There are many fan recreations and PVs that attempt to recreate the original, and you most likely have come across one of these or someone trying to pass one off as the real song.
  3. Masa has been contacted numerous times about Interface and his lost songs. He has stated that he no longer has them and prefers not to discuss them further. Please respect his wishes and refrain from contacting him about these works.

Masa discussion is also banned in the discord, so please don't discuss him there.

First Steps:

First, if you haven't already, join the vocalost discord, that's where all the searching takes place.

After you're in the server, finding a song might seem a bit daunting at first. This beginners guide aims to break down the process of searching for, identifying, and archiving songs.

I would recommend familiarizing yourself with the terminology

  1. Find a producer you're interested in.

Before anything, we need to figure out exactly what we want to look for. As a quick note, you might not see some of the super popular producers like DECO*27, wowaka, or Kikuo here because their songs are usually well-documented because of their popularity and we might not know if anything is lost from them.

  1. If you don't have a producer in mind, feel free to look through the discussion forum in the discord, there's a list of producers and threads for their lost media there. This could be a good starting point since the threads generally already have a good amount of info about the producer and their lost songs, giving you a good place to start. However, for some producers, our searches have reached a dead end. We've looked for their works, found what we can, and haven't been able to locate any more (Dr. Willy is a good example). That gives us another option:

  2. If you have a producer in mind who's not in the discussion forum, feel free to start a thread for them! Generating more interest will always increase the chances of finding lost works!

After you've figured out what producer or song you want to help look for, head here!
