RETCAD is a software suite developed for the design and analysis of FRET networks. It is composed of the following modules:
### RETSimwhich is an engine for Förster Resonance Energy Transfer simulation. It supports several FRET simulaiton algorithms, some of which can capture saturation effects.
which is internally connected to RETSim and can visualize the simulation results in the form of charts. It can also perform user-defined post-simulation processing on the output of RETSim.
which is a scripting engine designed specifically for FRET network design-space exploration. It can automatically initialize template networks based on a set of user-defined rules, and simulate each one with RETSim, and finally rank the results based on user-defined metrics.
which is a tool for inspecting dyes (fluorophore types). It has a database of more than 300 dyes with their photo-physical properties. It can sort any user-created list of dyes by absorption, or emission at a given wavelength or by the spectral overlap with a given dye as the donor- or acceptor.
which is a search engine capable of executing sophisticated spectral or photo-physical queries. This tool is useful when the desired constraints span over multiple dyes and therefore manual search is cumbersome; for example searching among > 100 candidate dyes for three RET pairs with minimal direct excitation, maximal spectral overlap and minimum crosstalk.
