IDE Requirements

The MIPS Open IDE has been tested on Windows 64-bit system (Windows Home 64-bit), and Linux 64-bit system (Ubuntu 16.04, Ubuntu 18.04, CentOS 7.6). The host system should have a minimum of 2GB of RAM, 20 GB of available hard-disk space, and a minimum display of 1024x768 with 256 colors. For optimal performance, a lot more cores, memory, and disk-space are recommended.

Constraints

The MIPS Open IDE is designed to make life easier for you, the MIPS embedded and embedded Linux developer. The IDE is a tool to automate/accelerate what you would normally do "manually": edit, compile, and debug code. You still have to know what you're doing. The IDE doesn't fetch coffee, find bugs, or generate perfect code for you. At least, not yet anyway ...

As it can be integrated and enhanced with several other third-parties software components, the MIPS Open IDE may also be constrained by the capabilities of these software.
