Creating Workspace - mips-open-ide/Releases GitHub Wiki

Creating a new workspace in MIPS Open IDE is very easy and amounts to simply selecting an empty or non-existent directory. If the directory does not exist, MIPS Open IDE will create it and in either case prepare the workspace for importing and/or creating new projects.

Note that if you don’t specify the complete root directory path, MIPS Open IDE will create the workspace directory relative to the MIPS Open IDE installation directory.

Upon the opening of a newly created workspace, MIPS Open IDE shows the Welcome screen and creates storage for the workspace in the specified location on the host computer and prepares it to import and/or create one or more projects. Welcome screen for the new empty workspace is shown in Figure 33:

Selecting the “Go to the workbench” button enters the newly created, empty workspace.

An empty workspace simply has no projects and as a result the Project Explorer section is blank.
