Michael Sargent 2/16/24 NET-150 Lab 5-1

Tech Journal:

• In this lab I worked with setting up a network with PC's connecting directly to a router without a switch and learned how to make addresses when I am not already given any, I also learned how to install a sniffer and use it to observe the network that I built.
• To set up the router I had to manually add the ethernet ports to it as that it had connection to talk to the two PC's and the switch, also the Ethernets had to be the PT-ROUTER-NM-1CFE Module, so that the ethernets could communicate.
• Troubleshoot: . Connecting the Sniffer to the switch required a copper cross over cable instead of a copper straight through cable to function.
