Tech Journal:

• In this lab the goal was to create three VLANs that different departments would be communication on.
• To create a VLAN for a network on PacketTracer, you go into Config/VLAN page and add your VLAN as a Number and Name in the respective fields.
• Then go to the Config tab and configure which Ethernet port is in which VLAN by clicking the VLAN field and select the VLAN you want the port to be.
• To convert a gigabit port to a trunk port select the drop down menu that is labeled Access and change it to be Trunk.
• To change from a Trunk port to an Access do the reverse of the before mentioned instructions.
