METS web page

• Major rework by Karin has been submitted to the Library of Congress.

iPres 2021 METS Tutorial report

• Karin, Juha, and Tobias presented a successful and well-received event.
• 20 people attended in the room, with another 75 online.

iPres 2022

• Submission due date 8 March 2022
• Should we submit a redo of the tutorial and/or a new presentation on METS2?
• Need to have plan by the end of the January 20 meeting

METS2

• Aaron updated the draft schema and examples to reflect decisions from previous meeting. (See 2021-10-07 Board Meeting Notes.) Changes include removing the href attribute with type xsd:anyURI and instead using LOCREF with type xsd:string. The intention is that LOCTYPE and LOCREF will always be used, which enables the use of non-URI locations without confusion.
• White paper
  • No further comments on the outline. Time to start writing. Karen will begin by reviewing and resolving the comments.
  • Confirm that all changes to the draft schema are represented in the outline.
  • Responsibility for drafting sections has been divided among the board members, as noted in the draft paper. Bertrand Caron will proofread the completed paper.
  • The Motivation section will deal with high-level goals, whereas sections about individual changes will describe how each change furthers the goals.

Membership

• Jukka Kervinen will be stepping down from the Board after the January 2022 meeting. The Board will miss him and thanks him for his many contributions!
