METS meeting (2020-12-17)

Draft of METS 2 (light)

Aaron has created a first draft in its own branch in GitHub. This will aid us in making sure we capture all the changes suggested as well as testing the new schema.

Migration testing will show parts needing more reconsideration.

Karin will set up a Google Drive folder and share in the board for creation of:

• White paper giving the short description of why, version 1's status, benefits of the suggested METS 2, why METS is still relevant 20 years down the road.
• First version of a draft primer where all elements are explained.
• A document list of other documents needing to be revisited.
• Google Sheet with possibility to record results of testing.

METS profiles will be discussed as its own agenda point further on.

Tutorial in April: Might be postponed, content needs to be decided.

Is it possible to create a paper to present a possible METS 2 at iPres? Deadline 15 March, 2021. Important dates iPres 2020/2021 (There is already a submission of a METS Tutorial.)

We will continue testing the draft schema!
