Y axis (vertical sample motion) is not responsive

Hardware version

Benchtop-v1, with Y axis for sample motion implemented using two synched stages (Dual-LS100-FTP from ASI) coupled by a metal bridge.

Symptoms

The Y axis motion cannot be controlled neither by mesoSPIM software nor by joystick. The controller card blinks red/green. Other stages work OK.

Root cause

The two stages of Y axis can be mechanically jammed if they get out of sync, because they are rigidly coupled and driven by two servo motors (an over-constrained system).

Fix

Loosen the M6 screws that couple the metal bridge to the two stages. Home the stages by pressing "Home" button on ASI joystick. After the stages homed, tighten the screws again.
