Preparing the Oxxius L4Cc combiner
Modification of IO port
The factory-shipped IO port (25-pin D-Sub) has shutter and interlock pins (1, 2, 11, 12) connected to +5V pin, so that combiner is ready for operation.
In order to control the port-switching module MDL-FSTM with mesoSPIM software, solder a suitable connector (e.g. SMA or BNC) to pins #24 (MDL-FSTM input) and #16 (digital ground), see photo below. Plug the IO connector into its port and connect the SMA terminal to the arm-switching digital output from mesoSPIM connector block.
Setting the laser modulation: Oxxius
Correct configuration is shown below
:bulb: If your GUI looks different from the image above (e.g. no shutter widgets), you can use stand-alone software Oxxius Configurator to enable the widgets
If you still have issues, please contact Oxxius team to apply a software patch that will enable these features.
Troubleshooting
No laser switching between arms
Checks to perform:
- is 5V TTL signal actually applied to pin #24? Use oscilloscope or voltmeter to test.
- are both shutters open?
If there is still no switching between the fiber outputs, please contact Oxxius team, they may need to apply a software patch that will enable the switching.
