The Restore Content function uses an existing deploy configuration file to restore the content from your local GIT repository to the portal. Use this tool when content in your project was deleted by accident or when changes in your webmap or application need to be reverted. Using this tool will revert all the content in the project. If a partial restore of the items is required, create a copy of the JSON project file and remove all items from that JSON which don't need to be restored and restore your project using that modified JSON.

  1. Verify you are logged in to the same Portal which was used to create the content project
  2. Click Restore Content and select the deploy configuration file from the file browser
  3. The configured items in the JSON will be uploaded from your disk to the Portal and the existing items on Portal will be overwritten. When an item was deleted on ArcGIS Enterprise 10.8.1 or higher, the item will be restored with the same ItemID
