Stevin's Crypt - mcculzac/brouwer GitHub Wiki
Undead and burial place, valuables left buried inside coffins sometimes. Guarded on the outside, but corpses are now walking. Town knows nothing about it, except a crypt worker who is cagey about it (knows but makes his job easier so doesn't care to find out more).
- A: Two very old, dried out zombies and the 4 coffins that players spawn out of.
- B: Two Zombie Protectors, on passing threshold they use reaction to push character back in. They look more recently deceased, little bit taller and more material.
- C: Pillars provide nice dark shadows. Inside the coffin is 150 GP of jewels and golden necklace. If players take the stuff and villagers find out, they'll be mad. On east wall has writing saying it's Stevin's Crypt. (Stevin was owner of the village but died, and no one really claimed to own it after and it became a mayoral based village).
- D: A room filled with coffins strewn about. Most are empty, for each one opened, roll 1d6, 6 is 1d6*10 gp, 1-2 is mundane equip, 3-4 is weapon/armor/shield, 5-6 is magic item. Takes time to open coffins, if players take too long, dust devils attack. Additionally the sideways one looks much nicer, is dusted and has a varnish the other ones dont' seem to have. Female human in it, dead, with a golden necklace beset with a ruby gem. Carved on the side is Patricia Eiriksdottir. If go next to hand, hand makes stealth check w/ advantage v players passive percep. Between D and E is a very dark hallway. If they step on rubble, DC10 Dex save or fall and take 1 bludgeoning damage. In the north west corner there is a pile of droppings identifiable as rat with DC10 Nature check. Additionally need DC10 passive percep to see (no light = -5).
- E: A room with little inlets that contain shelves of urns, dimly lit. There is a single Zombie Protector patrolling, can be stealthed around. With DC10 Perception (disadv dim light), can see has some kind of wooden charm on it. Charm is Stevin's good luck charm he firmly believed in. It has haste and the charm is right next to him.
- F: The caretaker's office, some chairs around a desk for when people want to come in and talk about how to have their loved one's body taken care of. Timesheet, some old books etc. (Only interesting is Maladies Homebrew Cures which is good cooking to cure disease). If they search the desk, find 20gp, a letter to Patricia, his dear friend about his day and mundane stuff, and hopes his necklace he got her she likes. Signed Cob.
- G: Here is the caretaker guarding at night, named Cobb. There is also a shrine lit with torches and a spot with offerings. The offering has 10d6 worth of gold and jewels in it.
