Engelbert's Quest to cast Level 10 Spell
Assassination
- King Kalagin had court wizard killed, told everyone the wizard had an experiment that went wrong and as a result of the explosion killed him, but in reality had members of his royal guard go after him causing massive casualties (50+ of equipped members that can be found in the wreckage). Continued excavation leads in new results. After a time, bodies are found and the excavation is limited to royal only.
Engelbert
- Engelbert has arrived in Brouwer and begun doing research into solving death for all, attempting to bring back his --friend-- childhood friend. His prepwork has begun disturbing the natural order of death throughout the land, and, has inadvertently turned the corpse of his friend into a boneclaw which begins ravaging across the land.
- Eventually the players figure out Engelbert is responsible for this and confront him only to find out the boneclaw isn't a normal boneclaw and has turned on Engelbert.
King Kalagin's Immortality Ploy
Clerics
- King Kalagin has a number of clerics as part of the Church of Light to help him in his endeavors, but are limited in what they can do, e.g. can't dispell magic traps set by former court wizard.
- He's sought the magic abilities of non-clerics to see if they can give him what he likes, but so far hasn't been successful, leading to the talking to, refusal and resulting assassination of the court wizard. New one will appear in time.
Lyrium
- Lyrium is usually a dust that can enhance the magic abilities of the user. It is dangerous, easy to OD, and an OD/rage can lead to massive deaths of other individuals. It's highly addictive, and can have a lethal withdrawal. It can be used to enhance spell power in controlled ritual form, combined with silver circles and another of other components (sometimes dragon's blood).
- One main storage facility is in Norwich, where the silverfall mine is that provides much of the silver for the plan. The workers are overpaid for their time to keep them happy.
King's Prison Reform
High amounts of community services (read. slavery) to keep streets clean. They aren't technically required to, but there is high pressure and over a 90% participant rate. People that misbehave or cause problems disappear (read, sacrificed for inconsequential amounts of power).
City Guard v Prison Guard
- City guard is required to watch the prisoners that are served community time. They don't like it as they hate being prison watches. Causes friction between the prison warden and city guard folk.
