In addition to downloading and installing the Quad-Views-Foveated program on your PC, you must complete all of the steps below in order to use eye tracking with your Varjo Aero/VR-3/XR-3!
THE INSTRUCTIONS BELOW ARE DIFFERENT FOR VARJO OPENXR AND STEAMVR - FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS SPECIFIC TO YOUR USAGE
Important note about settings
If you have been referring to Varjo's Getting the perfect image quality page in order to understand the various resolution settings in Varjo Base, please beware that the values from table 1), 2), 4) and 5) "running a Varjo native application with foveated rendering" and "running a Varjo native application in quad view mode (fixed foveation)" are not applicable. When using Quad-Views-Foveated's implementation of quad views rendering, Varjo Base will "see" your application running in Stereo mode, and therefore use the resolution settings from table 3).
If you use Varjo OpenXR...
-
To make sure you are using the Varjo OpenXR runtime, open the Varjo Base application on your PC, then in the 'System tab', under 'Compatibility' toggle 'OpenXR' to on.
- While in that tab, ensure that eye tracking in 3rd party applications is enabled, under 'Privacy', toggle 'Allow eye tracking' to on.
-
Ensure that your eye tracker is calibrated. In the 'Headset' tab, under 'Foveated Rendering', make sure to select a method for using calibration.
If you use SteamVR OpenXR...
