MicroGames is a class assignment for the Winter 2013 session of CSE 218 at UCSD.
The purpose of the project is to explore the design and implementation of a software system from an architect's point of view utilizing the 4+1 view model. In addition to architectural documents, some System Engineering/Project Management documentation is required, specifically risk tracking and management as well as project status reports.
Inspiration
The project was inspired by an interest in the board game based on the novel "The Shining" by Stephen King. While neither of the project team had played any games of this sort, it appeared to be an interesting topic to base a project around. More information about the game can be found on the supported games page. MicroGames are meant to be "micro" in both their size as well as the time it takes to complete a round. The project aims to remain true to the mechanics of the games but in a potentially slower pace. More information on Microgames and their history on the Wikipedia Entry.
