The cookbook is your entrypoint to cooking in Crop & Kettle! It contains all sorts of recipes for the cutting board, mixing bowl and cooking pot.
Discoverability
When you first open it, you may find that all of the ingredients and recipes are not fully visible. This is because ingredients are unlocked as you pick them up in-game, and recipes are unlocked as you cook them! The pages will update dynamically as you progress, so try and complete the whole thing!
Everytime you unlock a new ingredient or recipe, you'll get a toast popup on the top-right of your screen to let you know that something in the cookbook has updated! These can be disabled on the settings menu if desired.
Not a fan of the discoverability system? You can easily unlock every recipe and ingredient in the settings menu of the datapack:
Press Escape > Data Packs... > Crop & Kettle > Settings
Navigation
The tabs on the right let you quickly navigate to each section in the cookbook. Also, if an ingredient in a recipe has another recipe in the cookbook, clicking on that ingredient will take you to the recipe for the ingredient!
Your current page is also saved after closing the book, so you will be on the same page when you open it again.
You may notice that when navigating the cookbook, a white border around the GUI will rapidly appear then disappear. This is sadly an unfortunate side effect of how Mojang made dialogs work, there is currently no vanilla workaround for it. If you want to remove it, I recommend downloading the unjank mod!
As of v1.2, a "return" button has been added to make navigating between recipes easier! When clicking on an ingredient in a recipe to view its own recipe, a button will appear in the bottom right. Clicking this will return you to the original recipe you were on!
