What is Inkscape?
Inkscape is a free and open-source vector graphics editor used to create and edit illustrations, diagrams, logos, and complex designs. It supports the SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) format and offers powerful drawing tools, path operations, text support, and more.
Task 1: How to download Inkscape on your PC using Chrome
- Open the Inkscape website (inkscape.org).
- Click on the download tab and select current stable version
- On the next page, choose Windows Installer Package. The download will start automatically.
- Run the .exe file. Follow the setup instructions by clicking Next through each step. Once installation is complete, you’re ready to launch the program and start your first project.
Task 2: How to draw a circle in Inkscape with coloured stroke and fill
- Open the Inkscape app and select "new document"
- From the left toolbar, select the Ellipse/Arc Tool.
- Click and drag on the canvas while holding the Ctrl key to draw a perfect circle.
- Press Shift + Ctrl + F to open the Fill and Stroke panel on the right.
- Adjust the Fill and Stroke Paint settings as desired.
- Save your image by going to File > Save As, then choose a file name and destination folder. Your colored circle is now saved!
