Requisitos

Servidor web apache2 ou semelhante.

Habilitar o módulo rewrite

Para habilitar rewrite no apache, basta digitar a seguinte linha de comando. sudo a2enmod rewrite e alterar o arquivo /etc/apache2/sites-available/default na linha AllowOverride

    DocumentRoot /var/www

            Options FollowSymLinks
            AllowOverride All
    </Directory>
    <Directory /var/www/>
            Options Indexes FollowSymLinks MultiViews
            AllowOverride All
            Order allow,deny
            allow from all
    </Directory>

    ScriptAlias /cgi-bin/ /usr/lib/cgi-bin/
    <Directory "/usr/lib/cgi-bin">
            AllowOverride None
            Options +ExecCGI -MultiViews +SymLinksIfOwnerMatch
            Order allow,deny
            Allow from all
    </Directory>

    ErrorLog ${APACHE_LOG_DIR}/error.log

    # Possible values include: debug, info, notice, warn, error, crit,
    # alert, emerg.
    LogLevel warn

    CustomLog ${APACHE_LOG_DIR}/access.log combined
</VirtualHost>

e depois é só reiniciar.

service apache2 restart
