To hold the fish -

Polyurethane barrels This link suggests a good and cheap way to create fishtanks is using polyurethane barrels, I assume 55 gallons would not be enough on its own to house trout but interesting as a cheaper option. Apparently warehouses and restaurants give them away.

Super cheap barrels from india?

If the barrels don't work this could end up being quite an expensive part of the system. Though it seems as though I could order a 85m3 tank for 300-500 from here though that would have to depend on the space that I find in Bremen.

Structure to hold system

It is very important to have a strong structure that can support the whole system including grow beds, piping, electronics. I would plan on making this from fire safe wood and giving it a waterproofing finish as this would be possible with the wood workshop at HFK.

There would also be the possibility of building it with metal shelving units, depending on the cost.

Perhaps it would be cheaper to cusom build tray holders from metal in the metalworkshop?

Piping and grow beds

I think it is important to be able to stop the flow to a specific grow bed, drain it easily and then remove the grow bed. Either for cleaning, or for adding in extra elements. This should be a modular system.

Water and Air pump

Currently it looks like the cost for both would be between 70 & 100 for a decent sized system.
