Skill Triggers - massif-press/lancer-data GitHub Wiki

Overview

Adds additional Skill Triggers for PCs to select on creation and level up. These must be stored under a file named skills.json that contains a single array of skill data objects.

Definition

skills.json

ISkillData: {
  "id": string,
  "name": string,
  "description": string,
  "detail": string,
  "family": "str" | "con" | "dex" | "int" | "cha"
}

Required Fields

id

Internal identifier. This must be globally unique. See Item ID Guidelines for more information.

name

The display name of the item

description

Item text. HTML syntax is allowed, terseness is recommended.

detail

Flavor text for Compendium and expanded item cards. HTML syntax is allowed.

family

The "skill family" ("str", "con", "dex", "int", "cha") only determines where on the Skill Trigger list the item appears, and has no mechanical effect. This is useful for arranging new skills with similar ones.

  "name": "Assault",
  "description": "Take part in direct and overt combat.",
  "detail": "Take part in direct and overt combat: fighting your way through a building packed with hostile mercenaries, trading shots between rain-slick trenches, fighting in chaotic microgravity as part of a boarding action, or engaging the enemy in the smoking urban rubble of a city under orbital bombardment — When you assault, you’re always assaulting something (a position, a rival pilot, an enemy force, a group of guards), and it’s always loud, open, direct action.",
  "family": "str"
