Overview

• ERDAS APOLLO is a server technology that allows the collection and distribution of large amounts of data on a single server. The software is especially designed to gather data with spatial context, i.e. aerial photos, satellite imagery, administrative borders, landscape features and much more. In addition a great number of different files can be collected, such as documents, images, reports, tables.
• ERDAS APOLLO allows to store data in different database formats, making it an easy to adapt and scalable software for organizations in many fields:
  • In the public sector: civil administrations, research facilities
  • Commercial enterprises: i.e. telecommunication and IT, logistics, utilities
  • Military: Intelligence, dispatch management
• ERDAS APOLLO offers interfaces for creating web services to publish the collected data. These services may be consumed with a wide range of software - from desktop applications, to web and mobile apps.

ERDAS APOLLO Server

ERDAS APOLLO may be installed on a single server or in a cluster of servers. The software is capable of handling multiple tasks at the same time.

Scenario

Das Bundesland NRW verfügt über eine gewaltige Datenmenge sogenannter Geodaten. Das sind Informationen, die einen räumlichen Bezug besitzen, wie zum Beispiel Luftbilder, Verwaltungsgrenzen, Straßen- und Gebäudekataster. Diese Daten sind in der Regel auf mehrere Behörden und Organisationen verteilt. Sie befinden sich in unterschiedlichen Formaten und Datenspeichern. Es ist u.U. schwierig an bestimmte Informationen zu gelangen, weil sie wegen technologischer, personeller oder rechtlicher Beschränkungen nicht verfügbar sind.

Mit ERDAS APOLLO gibt es eine Software, die in der Lage ist, diese Einschränkungen zu überwinden und den gesamten Geodatenbestand des Landes NRW an Nutzer mit unterschiedlichen Bedürfnissen verbreiten.
